When I had a scholarship to study art in Japan for a year, I started to appreciate subtle beauty more, including dark-on-dark color combinations. Along with black and brown, I also love black and dark blue (what I am calling “midnight” here—it is brighter than navy but more subdued than cobalt. (I think this color combination works well in these MEDIUM STRIPE Knee/Boot socks because the stripe is a little wider than the regular stripe, and you can see the colors better.)
